Over the past few years, the KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast has experienced immense growth, developing into a hub of business activity in South Africa. This corridor of development has been supported by the region’s close proximity to Africa’s two busiest ports, Durban and Richards Bay, as well as its convenient location to King Shaka International Airport, which is a mere 15 minutes drive from Brettenwood Coastal Estate.
The Estate itself makes the most of the Dolphin’s Coast natural landscape, placing homes skillfully between indigenous forests and wetlands and offering expansive sea and forest views.
Safety is our Priority
Brettenwood prides itself on having a hands-on approach to security, resulting in an impeccable track record regarding the safety of all residents.
A number of highly successful preventative measures are implemented to ensure the Estate remains safe. State-of-the-art security systems are continually maintained and updated; thorough security checks are enforced at all entrances; security personnel are present at gates and perimeters; the Estate has its own reaction vehicle and there are armed-response vehicles available for assistance in the immediate area.
A security committee also meets regularly to discuss the Estate’s security. The Homeowners Associations employs its own Security Manager that stays on Brettenwood, ensuring a higher standard of service delivery from security suppliers. Added to these measures, a minimum rental period of 12 months applies to all residents of the exclusive Estate to ensure families aren’t exposed to the disruptions that come with holiday or short term rentals. Everyone entering the Estate is criminally checked and vetted.

Daily life centres around the outdoors: homes are encircled by nature, picnic and braai spots dot the Estate and walking and cycling trails criss-cross over the contoured landscape. The essence of ‘coastal living’ is lived here every day, the outdoors encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.
Peace of mind can never be underestimated. The exclusive residential Estate prides itself on state-of-the-art security measures, boasting a ‘zero breach status’. Safe and secure parameters allow parents to gift their children the freedom to explore the Estate’s many green spaces.

Overall, Brettenwood offers an attractive lifestyle for people in all different stages of their lives.
Absolute life changer for us. It’s the best decision we’ve made.... Just absolutely amazing.
Brettenwood is a truly magnificent place to live. Lots of fun. Lots of good people.
The whole place is just fantastic. The people are great. The facilities here we didn’t see anywhere else... on any other estate.
The Estate’s boutique style provides a relaxed atmosphere that is unhurried and peaceful but does not compromise on facilities and at all times maintains its sophistication. Each home is unique yet they all blend together into a lush environment, a feature not always seen by other estates.

Brettenwood is cool because we have lots to do when my friends visit. I can also run down to visit my grandparents in Forest Village for ice cream. I like being able to keep fit for sport and here I can run, go to the gym with my parents or practice my chipping on the big field.

I like going to Woodys to watch soccer and have a milkshake with my brother or friends because we can talk to the guys who work there about soccer and they're cool. The new swimming pool is awesome, especially the new slides.

Brettenwood was my late Dad’s dream and I am so privilege to be able to live here. We moved here in April 2007 and were the 1st freehold resident. I just love to be able to see the sea from my windows, the guinea fowl and duiker are regular visitors.
We love Brettenwood and feel blessed to call it home..... beautiful estate, great facilities, friendly people, awesome vibe, super safe and very well maintained..... a little piece of paradise!
